ATLANTA - Another round of excellent starting pitching, combined with a big first inning have the
New York Yankees halfway to their 25th World Series title. David Cone duplicated Game 1 winner
Orlando Hernandez's seven innings of one-hit ball and the Yankees roughed up the Atlanta Braves
7-2 Sunday to take a 2-0 lead as the series heads back to New York. 

The Yanks greeted Braves starter Kevin Millwood rudely in the opening inning, batting around and scoring three times before Cone even took the mound. Tino Martinez and Scott Brosius delivered RBI singles with two outs in the first. Ricky Ledee's double chased Millwood in the third, and it was 7-0 by the fifth. Now, the Braves' best hope is a repeat of the 1996 Series, when New York lost the first two games at Yankee Stadium to Atlanta before taking the next four. However, the Yankees have won 16 of their last 17 playoff games. Game 3 will be played Tuesday night with Tom Glavine pitching for the Braves against New York's Andy Pettitte.
